CITY HARBOUR BOARD QUELLS CONCERN OVER ROSSAVEAL PORT

Planners of the 200 million euro Docks redevelopment in the city have said it will not adversely affect Rossaveal Harbour in Connemara.
Representatives of the Galway Harbour Board told a recent meeting of Galway county council that there was scope for both harbours in the county.
Connemara councillors had voiced concern that any new docks development would reduce business for Rossaveal harbour.
The vision for Galway docks is for all cargos to be taken out, oil tankers removed and a 200 berth Marina built by 2015.
By 2020, it's hoped the harbour will have the ability to accomodate cruise ships carrying up to five thousand people.
