CITY GRAVEYARDS REOPEN ON SUNDAYS

THE long running issue relating to visiting graveyards in Galway has been resolved according to Cllr Padraic Conneely.

Gates at the new cemetery, Bohermore and Rahoon have been closed to the public for the past 3 Sundays due to staffing issues.

Cllr Conneely has been critical of the council's decision not to open the gates for those who wished to visit the graveyards on Sunday afternoons.

But he says the gates will now be open on Sundays in both cemeteries from 1 to 4.30 pm.
