City councillors remain committed to pilot Park n' Ride at Carnmore
City councillors have given unanimous backing to the poorly used pilot park n' ride scheme at the airport in Carnmore, despite being divided on it during initial discussions last night.
Some felt the plug should be pulled as it's losing vast amounts of money, with just 150 users per week.Others felt it needs more promotion and strategic marketing. In a presentation, Chamber of Commerce CEO, Michael Coyle, said the operator remains committed to the original 6 month pilot. In reply to a query from Mayor Padraig Conneely about the aviation side of business in Carnmore, Mr Coyle said Air Corps usage is up considerably on last year, while there has been an increase in private charter business and plane owners business
