A minute's silence was held at this evening's city council meeting in memory of Galway native Seamus Brennan who died last week. Mayor Paraic Conneely led the cross-party tributes to the former minister for his major contributions to Irish political life. Councillors said Seamus Brennan was always as conscious of his native Galway as he was of his Dublin constituency.
