CITY COUNCILLOR LASHES OUT AT GALWAY HEALTH SYSTEM

A Galway City Councillor says it's impsossible for Galway to have a top tier health system in the wake of more bed closures.

Cllr. Catherine Connolly is lashing out at the HSE West following news that University Hospital Galway has reduced the number of beds in the Gynaecological Department between now and mid December.

This means that some elective procedures may have to be deferred as emergency cases will take priority.
