CITY COUNCILLOR CALLS FOR LATE NIGHT BUS SERVICE

Late night revellers may soon be able to avail of bus services in the city.The idea is being put forward by city councillor Mary Leahy, who says a late night bus service would encourage ease of access to events such as the upcoming Galway Volvo ocean race festival.Plans are already advanced to provide a day time park and ride bus service for the Volvo race, which will operate from Galway Racecourse.At this week's city council meeting, Director of Services Ciaran Hayes agreed to begin discussions with relevant bus companies.
