CITY COUNCIL TO DISPOSE OF LANDS AT BALLYLOUGHAN

Council lands at Ballyloughaun are to be disposed following an agreement with Liam Mellows GAA club.

Galway City Councillors agreed to sell a 4 acre land site following the presentation of a report last evening by City Manager Joe O'Neill.

The lands are part of a larger 7 acre site purchased by the City Council in 2007 with an estimated peak time price per acre in excess of 80 thousand euro.

The club plans to use the 4 acre lands to provide an additional playing pitch and also to undertake work on the remaining council plot for a walk and cycle path to connect the existing public walkway close to the clubhouse.
