CITY COUNCIL TAKES PORN CINEMA TO COURT

The city council is taking a sex cinema to court for unauthorised use. Galway city council has confirmed the Jade Winters porn cinema in the Liosbán Industrial Estate is unauthorised and has launched legal proceedings against the management. A planning officer inspected the cinema on the 5th of November last year and found 50 per cent of the cinema was being used to show adult films. Two large screen cinemas were being used, one 12 seat and one 9 seat. Six video booths were also found and four private rooms. The office of the Film Censor is also investigating the material on show. The case has been listed for hearing on the 4th June at Galway District Court. Fine Gael Councillor Padraig Conneely's delighted action's being taken.
