CITY COUNCIL BRANDED UNCOMPRISING IN MARATHON ROW

Galway City Council has been accused of being uncomprising.
Cllr Padraig Conneely has made the accusation in response to the cancellation of the second annual Galway City Marathon, due to be held on August 28th.
Marathon organisers Richard and Paul Donovan called off this year's race after a row with the City Council over a traffic management plan.
However, the city council said other large scale events are required to come up with an adequate traffic management plan and asked why should this event be different.
Cllr Padraig Conneely says there has to be give and take but this is now a missed opportunity for commercial gain and showcasing the city.
