Christmas concert with the Baroque Singers
Date Published: 13-Dec-2012
The Galway Baroque Singers will bring 2012 to a close with a special Christmas Concert in Galway Cathedral this Saturday, December 15. The event will start at 8 pm.
Joining the choir will be guest violinists Bogdan Sofei and Ingrid Nicola with Raymond O’Donnell on the organ.
The programme will include music by various composers such as Monteverdi, Praetorius and John Rutter, and wonderful arrangements of traditional carols.
Leader of the Baroques, Audrey Corbett will guide the combined forces in what promises to be an evening of glorious music to lift the spirits. Everyone is invited to come along, leave the stress and gloom of the world outside, and let the music work its magic in the beautiful, spiritual surroundings of Galway Cathedral.
Tickets, costing €12/10, are on sale at Charlie Byrne’s Bookshop, from choir members or on the door. A donation from the evening will be made to Galway Hospice Foundation.
