At €50,000, it’s probably the cheapest residential property on the market in Galway City – a four-bed semi in Doughiska valued at around one-sixth of its ‘boom time’ price.

The house in the Fionn Uisce estate is being sold at auction next Tuesday on the orders of receivers Grant Thornton.

No. 116 The Privet is a two-storey 1,100 square foot house, and has been set a reserve price of €50,000. At the height of the property boom, similar properties were selling for around €300,000, while smaller four-bed terraced homes were selling for €270,000 to €280,000.

The house at Fionn Uisce is one of ten lots in the city and county which will go under the hammer at the Allsop Space ‘firesale’ auction in Dublin next week.
