CALLS FOR MORE PUBLIC TOILETS IN THE CITY

A Galway city councillor is calling for more public toilets in the city.

Councillor Nuala Nolan is shocked by the number of people urinating on the streets, particularly at weekends and during festivals.

A similar problem in the county was discussed at a recent meeting of Galway county council.

The issue of tourist buses allowing visitors to Galway to relieve themselves along the roadway in Kinvara was raised at the June meeting.

Now Councillor Nolan is calling for more Port-a-Loos to be placed throughout the city.

She says people urinating on the streets is not an image Galway wants to portray.
