Some wandering horses empounded by Galway County Council in Ballinasloe have been forcibly released by their owners while other animal owners had to pay a few of up to 500 euro.
At this month's meeting of the town's Joint Policing Committee, Cllr Carmel Grealy has called for stricter control of the empounding process.
