Tuam residents want more CCTV cameras for the town centre and Tirboy areas. But the town council has been told Gardai don't have the resources to monitor the cameras on a 24 hour basis.Superintendent Marie Skehill said it was probably more beneficial to the public to have a member of the force on the patrol in the streets rather than sitting behind a monitor at the station.
