A call is being made for the Minister for Education to clarify his commitment to education in Kinvara as fears grow that a new 2nd level school for the area could be delayed. In January of this year, a report published by the Commission on School Accomodation recommended that a co-educational post primary school for 800 students be provided in the Kinvara area. The Sisters of Mercy will withdraw their education services from Seamount College Kinvara as soon as a replacement school is found.Minister Batt O'Keffe says a decision on the new school will be made by September However, Deputy Ulick Burke says there has been no progress on the project.
