CALL FOR DEER TO BE CULLED IN NORTH GALWAY

Date Published: 06-Feb-2008

There's been a call for the Government to cull deer in north Galway.Fine Gael Deputy Paul Connaughton says it's only a matter of time before somebody's seriously injured as a result of deer running out in front of cars. He's claiming the number of wild deer is rising steadily as a result of forestry plantations maturing faster. Deputy Connaughton's denying he wants the deer wiped out completely but says adequate culling isn’t taking place.
