BOY REMAINS CRITICAL AFTER LEISURELAND INCIDENT

A four year old boy remains in a critically ill condition in hospital following an incident at a swimming pool in Salthill.
The boy, whose family is from Galway, got into difficulty while swimming at the Leisureland Pool in Salthill at half past two yesterday afternoon.[17/4]
Gardaí were called to the scene and a number of lifeguards came to the boy's aid when he got into difficulty in the water.
They administered CPR and resuscitated him until the ambulance crew arrived.
He was rushed to University Hospital Galway where he remains in a critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit this morning.
