AVIVA UNWILLING TO COMMENT ON GALWAY JOBS

Date Published: 21-Sep-2011
Aviva has told Unite trade union that its internal review is ongoing and that the company is unwilling to comment on speculation about potential job losses.
There are fears for up to 210 jobs in Galway as Aviva Insurance looks to restructure its European business.
The company has a call centre in Knocknacarra and a branch in Eyre Square.
A union spokesperson says it hopes to keep discussions going with the insurer but it remains very concerned about what its intentions are.
UNITE says morale among its members in Aviva is 'on the floor' and the lack of communication from management is very poor.
