It’s Dance With Me –a unique dance collaboration between Blue Teapot Theatre Company, Gairmscoile Mhuire, Athenry, and professional choreographer Rachel Parry. This five week Outreach project culminated in a public performance this week in the Athenry school.

This project was funded by Galway Rural Development, who “recognise the good work” of Blue Teapot, the theatre and training company that helps people with an intellectual disability to thrive creatively.

Elaine Quinn of Galway Rural Development identified the project as “right up Blue Teapot’s alley; working with the socially excluded which combined arts and disabilities”.

Choreographer Rachel Parry has worked with Blue Teapot Theatre Company over the past four years.

During the past five weeks she witnessed the amazing results of her work as participants in her projects went on to become facilitators. Rachel was “excited to be involved in such a visionary project, “using dance to bring together different people who might not normally ever get a chance to dance together, or even meet”.
