ASIAN-GALWAY VENTURE TO BOOST LOCAL ECONOMY

Galway will get a 2 million euro boost from strong education ties with Malaysia, according to Minister of State, Ciaran Cannon.

The Junior Minister has just returned from a State visit to Malaysia, where he signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

It seeks to strengthen and grow the relationship between the two countries.

Minister Cannon also met with the head of a new Malaysian based college, which is sending 50 students to Galway to study medicine in a joint venture with NUIG.
