ARMY CALLED IN TO DEAL WITH GALWAY FLOODING

The army has been called in to help the local authorities deal with the flooding in Galway.

Several days of heavy rainfall is continuing to have a serious impact on motorists, homeowners and businesses around the county.

Severe flooding has forced the closure of several main routes, and hundreds of houses are still under water.
