GALWAYhave opted for the safety first route by naming an unchanged side for Sunday’s Connacht final clash with Sligo at Hyde Park (2.0).There was never likely to be too many changes from the Leitrim match but Peter Ford and his selectors have decided to 'leave well enough alone’ for the Connacht final clash. The 'biggest call’ by Galway management probably was in relation to Salthill-Knocknacarra forward Sean Armstrong who was very impressive when he came on against Leitrim, scoring two points in the second half. However, having a forward of Armstrong’s calibre to 'spring’ from the bench is a major option to have for Peter Ford.Niall Coyne, who did excellently in Galway’s league campaign, was also pressing hard for a half backline slot while giant midfielder Barry Cullinane — who made an impact when he came on against Leitrim —was also reported to have been going very well in training.Sligo manager Tommy Breheny — hoping to guide his county to their first Connacht title since 1975 and only their third overall — has made two changes in the side announced last night.Significantly, both changes are made in an attack which shot the bulk of 15 wides in their 0-13 to 2-5 semi-final victory over Roscommon.Out go two members of the full forward line — Philip Gallagher and Adrian Marren — replaced by Brendan Egan and John McPartland in a reshuffled attack.Egan is named at centre forward with their main dangerman Mark Breheny given the no. 14 jersey — McPartland comes in at top-of-the-left.
