APPEAL TO ISLAND FERRIES TO MAKE EXCEPTION ON BIKES

Date Published: 16-Aug-2012
A last ditch effort is underway to convince Island Ferries to make an exception in allowing three children travel with their bikes from Inis Mór.
Three children who are competing in the national community games finals this weekend have been told they cannot take their bicycles on the local ferry.
Island Ferries has banned bicycles on the service between Ros a Mhíl and the three Aran Islands for health and safety reasons.
There is a ferry service three times a week, but the timings don't suit the children who want to travel this Sunday.
