Anti-homophobia flash mob planned for city
A chalk graffiti flash mob will swarm on the city centre tomorrow to celebrate IDAHO - the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia.
The event gets underway in Eyre Square at 12.30 and moves down to Spanish Arch, where the group will draw chalk rainbows in support of gay and lesbian rights.
It's being organised by the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth group, SHOUT!
A quarter of Europe's lgbt community say they've been physically or verbally assaulted over the last five years.
A new EU report to mark IDAHO, has also found that two thirds are still afraid to show their sexuality in public and most feel discriminated against.
Anne-Marie Hession from SHOUT! is encouraging people to take part in the flash mob event.
