ALMOST 80 PER CENT OF GALWAY FIRMS AIM FOR HIGH STANDARDS
Almost four out of five firms in the West believe implementing standards directly benefits their business.
That's according to a study by the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) which surveyed 351 Managing Directors and CEOs nationwide.
78 percent of companies surveyed in Connaught said it had a significant impact on their business.
Amost three out of four Managing Directors and CEOs in the West also stated that firms with standards have stronger reputations in the marketplace.
Maurice Buckley is CEO with the NSAI and says Galway companies have always been smart users of standards, particularly in the medical device sector.
He told Galway Bay fm news that the NSAI is expanding its local presence in Ballybrit in May to support standards in medical devices
