ALCOHOL LICENSE GRANTED AT CITY TESCO EXPRESS STORE

Tesco Ireland has welcomed the granting of a beer and spirit licence for its Express store on the Newcastle Road in the city.

The licence for the shop which is located opposite UHG and NUIG, came before Loughrea Circuit Court this week.

The addition of the beer and spirit grant follows a failed bid for the licence when the matter came before Galway District Court in January.

In a statement to Galway Bay fm news, Tesco Ireland says the decision will complement the existing wine licence and allow for the provision of a full product range for customers.

It adds that Tesco will continue to be at the forefront of the sector in ensuring the responsible sale of alcohol.
