AIRPORT STAFF ENTER SIXTH NIGHT OF SIT-IN

Date Published: 11-Feb-2012
Staff at Galway Airport are entering their sixth night of sit-in as the row over redundancy payments rumbles on.
Staff have been informed that the board of Galway airport will meet again on Monday morning in a bid to complete talks with Bank of Ireland.
The row escalated after 1 million euro in funds was removed from the airport's accounts last month to reduce company loans.
It's understood this money had been earmarked for redundancy payments.
Staff began their sit-in on Monday evening, and are calling for assurances that the redundancies will be paid.
