9 MILLION SANCTIONED FOR ROSSAVEAL PONTOONS

Date Published: 31-Jul-2008
9 million euro in funding has come through to build ferry pontoons at Rosaveel Harbour. The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food is providing six million euro, with the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs co-funding the project to the tune of three million euro. Modern dedicated ferry berths will be provided at the Rosaveel Fishery Harbour as part of phase Two of a three-phase harbour development plan. It will free up existing ferry berths and allow space for a dedicated berth for the Aran Islands cargo service boat. Gaeltacht Minister Eamon O'Cuiv expects the work to begin in the autumn now that the funding has been sanctioned.
