87 GALWAY FAMILIES AVAIL OF HSE YOUTH ADVOCACY PROGRAMME

87 Galway families with young people at risk are among those to benefit from the services of the HSE Youth Advocate Programme.

The YAP Ireland Intensive Support Programme targets young people aged 10 -18 at high risk of placement in care, secure care and custody.

The programme's national report reveals that 475 young people at risk received one-to-one support from the scheme in Galway and 11 other counties in Ireland last year.

Director of Services with YAP Ireland Yvonne Coyne says it's been a huge success in Galway.
