61 AWAIT ASSESSMENT FOR GALWAY FAIR DEAL SCHEME

61 people in Galway are waiting to assessed for the Fair Deal Scheme.

The government Nursing Homes Scheme provides financial support for people who need long-term nursing home care.

Figures provided by the HSE West also show that 1 thousand 628 people have been assessed since the scheme was introduced.

19 of those waiting to be assessed are currently in acute hospitals.
