35 MILLION EURO OWED TO GALWAY COUNCILS

Almost 35 million euro is owed to Galway Councils in development levies and water charges.

According to today's Irish Independent, Galway County Council is owed 20 million euro, while the City Council is owed 14 and a half million euro.

In 2009, all Councils were given a directive to maintain "strict control" of their budgets.

The report also shows that 32 staff at Galway City Council are owed more than a full year of annual leave.
