NEW COMMUNITY NURSING HOME FOR LOUGHREA

SCPlans to build a new community nursing unit at St Brendan's Hospital, Loughrea have been given the green light. County planners have granted permission to the HSE to build a hundred-bed nursing home and car park on the same site as the existing hospital at Knockanima in the town. The community nursing unit will include a day centre, residential care with 100 beds, kitchens, treatment rooms, prayer room, offices, two therapy gardens and parking for 50 cars.
