Katie Taylor will take on Flora Pili at Croke Park in Dublin on Saturday, September 5

Katie Taylor will bring the curtain down on her extraordinary boxing career in front of a huge home crowd at Croke Park this Saturday night.

The Bray boxing legend will face undefeated French fighter Flora Pili on Saturday, September 5, in what will be the final professional bout of Taylor's glittering career.

More than 80,000 people are expected to pack into Croke Park for the historic occasion, which will see professional boxing return to GAA headquarters for the first time in more than half a century.

The last professional boxing card staged at the venue came in July 1972, when Muhammad Ali defeated Al "Blue" Lewis in front of around 17,000 spectators.

This time, however, it will be one of Ireland's greatest ever sporting stars taking centre stage as Taylor looks to end her career in fairytale fashion.

Here's everything you need to know about Katie Taylor v Flora Pili.

When is Katie Taylor fighting Flora Pili?

Katie Taylor will take on Flora Pili at Croke Park in Dublin on Saturday, September 5.

The fight will be the main event on a packed card of boxing and entertainment at the stadium.

Where can I watch Katie Taylor's final fight?

There is particularly good news for Irish fans who don't have tickets for Croke Park, as Taylor's final fight will be available to watch free-to-air.

RTÉ will broadcast the historic event live on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player, with Jacqui Hurley presenting coverage from 8pm.

Fans can also listen to live coverage on RTÉ 2FM, while RTÉ will have online coverage through RTÉ.ie and the RTÉ News app.

The event will also be broadcast worldwide on streaming service DAZN.

Who is Flora Pili?

Taylor will face undefeated French fighter Flora Pili in the final contest of her career.

The 28-year-old Corsican is 12 years younger than Taylor and arrives in Dublin with an unbeaten professional record.

Taylor, meanwhile, enters her final contest with a professional record of 25 wins and just one defeat.

The Irishwoman will put her super-lightweight titles on the line and has the opportunity to bow out as a three-time undisputed world champion.

Who else is fighting at Croke Park?

Taylor v Pili will headline a major card featuring a number of Irish fighters.

One of the most anticipated contests will see Dublin heavyweight Thomas Carty take on Britain's Dave Allen, while Paddy Donovan faces Tyrone McKenna in another all-Irish showdown.

The undercard adds to what is expected to be one of the biggest nights in the history of Irish boxing.

Will there be entertainment at Croke Park?

Yes, and organisers are treating the occasion as much more than simply a night of boxing.

Westlife have been confirmed as headline performers and will be involved in Taylor's final ring walk, with the Irish group saying they were "so honoured" to be asked to take part in the historic occasion.

The Mary Wallopers are also among the acts due to perform during the evening, while organisers have promised pyrotechnics and other entertainment between fights.

Katie Taylor's final goodbye

Whatever happens when the bell rings on Saturday night, Taylor's place among Ireland's greatest ever athletes has long been secured.

The Olympic gold medallist has gone from fighting for recognition as a young girl in Bray to headlining Madison Square Garden and becoming an undisputed world champion in two weight divisions.

Now, at 40 years of age, she will finally fulfil another lifelong ambition, fighting at Croke Park.

And this time, rather than travelling across the Atlantic to support her, Irish fans will get the opportunity to watch Taylor bring one of the country's most remarkable sporting careers to an end on home soil.
