Ireland could see a 30 °C heatwave in the coming days amid a glorious forecast.
Cathal Nolan from Ireland’s Weather Channel posted on Facebook to share that high pressure will be developing from Saturday, leading to rising temperatures across the country.
The good weather is expected to last “well into next week, at least.”
“Skies will clear and long spells of sunshine are likely to develop this weekend and through the majority of next week, which along with light winds will allow temperatures to rise,” Cathal wrote.
This weekend will see temperatures ranging in the low 20s, with a “plume of exceptionally hot air” arriving from Europe next week.
This will see temperatures reach the high 20s, with some weather models predicting highs of 31-33 degrees.
“It’s a little early to fully determine whether temperatures pushing close to the all-time Irish record of 33.3 degrees Celsius could develop, but a spell of much warmer and drier weather seems inevitable,” the post on Facebook states.
Meanwhile, Met Éireann is predicting that Saturday will have highest temperatures of 19 degrees, with the odd light shower.
Sunday is expected to be warm again, with rain in parts of the country, with temperatures reaching 22 degrees.
Met Éireann’s forecast says Monday will be the hottest day, reaching 23 degrees, and that from Wednesday onwards, it will be “ unsettled with rain or showers at times.”
It also says that between Wednesday and Sunday, top temperatures will reach the “mid to high teens.”
