BREAKING: Woman arrested in relation to murder and disappearance of 6-year-old Kyran Durnin

Gardaí investigating the case got a search warrant for the woman's home in Drogheda
Gardaí have arrested a woman from Louth in relation to the murder and disappearance of six-year-old Kyran Durnin this morning.
Gardaí investigating the case got a search warrant for the woman's home in Drogheda, with searches currently underway.
The woman, who is aged in her 50s, is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Garda Station in the Eastern Region.
An independent review into how the State dealt with the family of Kyran took place and found that what happened "could not have been anticipated."
Children’s Minister Norma Foley said that the report pointed to “policy and practice weaknesses” in relation to the child and family agency Tusla and other departments and state agencies.
Gardai launched a murder investigation last October into the disappearance of Kyran, from Co Louth, who was potentially missing for two years, unknown to authorities.
Gardai suspect that Kyran may have died in 2022 when he was six.
Tusla said it raised a “significant” concern about the missing child to police last August and launched an internal review about its engagement with Kyran and his family.
Investigations into the case are ongoing.
