MAN REMANDED IN CUSTODY OVER BALLINASLOE BURGLARY INVOLVING ALLEGED SEXUAL ASSAULT

A man in his twenties has been remanded in custody in connection with a burglary in Ballinasloe at the weekend.[27/2]

A woman was allegedly sexually assaulted during the incident at her home at the Esker Hills estate, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Last night the Galway man was charged in relation to the burglary and appeared before Judge McGrath at Loughrea District Court today.

He was remanded in custody to appear before Harristown District Court this Friday, with consent to his own bail of 3,000 euro.
