An evening with Jimmy Magee

Legendary sports commentator Jimmy Magee will be sharing his extensive sporting knowledge at the Town Hall Theatre next Tuesday May 13, in a special event entitled An Audience with Jimmy Magee.

He will recall tales from half a century behind the microphone for RTÉ and UTV with tales from a range of sporting disciplines including soccer, boxing, rugby and GAA. The event will include his memories of World Cup games, World Title fights, Olympic games and virtually every major sporting event over the last 50 years. He will talk about how he christened Pelé, nearly had a punch up with Nigel Benn and who he rates as the greatest sportsman ever.

After that, the ‘Memory Man’ will host a Q&A session in which any sporting question is fair game.

Tickets for Tuesday’s event are available at tht.ie.  091-569777 and the box  office and cost €12.
