GORT CRASH VICTIM NAMED LOCALLY

The young man who died following a car crash near Gort last night has been named locally as Brendan O' Halloran from Reekhill, Lough Cutra, Gort.

The single vehicle collision happened at 11.40pm on the N18 Ennis road, around two miles outside Gort.

18 year old Brendan O' Halloran was the driver of the car and died in hospital after suffering serious injuries in the crash.

The N18 Gort to Ennis road at Prospect has been closed for much of today while Gardaí carried out an examination of the scene, but has now re-opened.
