Garda alert on fake 50 euro notes in Tuam

Three such notes were reported to Gardai yesterday.

Two had been handed into a licenced premises while another had been offered as payment to a taxi driver.Businesses are being urged to check all 50 euro notes during the busy last minute shopping period this afternoon and report any counterfeits to Gardai.
