GALWAY SOCIAL WELFARE RECIPIENTS AFFECTED BY WORK TO RULE

Date Published: 09-Feb-2010
Galway's social welfare queries and concerns are being ignored as a result of an escalation of industrial action by public sector unions.
That's according to Galway Senator Fidelma Healy Eames.
She believes last week's escalation of Public Sector Union's work to rule only serves to hurt the most vulnerable.
Galway Social Welfare offices are not working at full capacity and this is impacting directly on the unemployed, according to Senator Healy Eames.
Representations made by her on behalf of her constituents have yet to be answered and she says this is not good enough.
