Galway public meetings on controversial topic of mental health services
Galway Bay fm newsroom - A series of public meetings on mental health services will take place nationwide next month, including Galway.
There has been much controversy in Galway in recent months over the transfer of psychiatric beds from St Brigid's in Ballinasloe to University Hospital Galway
The public meetings, which have just been announced, are being organised by the Health Service Executive.
The HSE say they want to hear directly from people who have experience of mental health services, their families, friends and carers, or anyone with an interest in the area.
Feedback from the meetings will go directly to the National Mental Health Management Team.
The first of the Galway meetings will take place on Tuesday week, March 4th at 2p.m. in the Connaught Hotel, Dublin Road in the city.
The second meeting will take place on the same date, March 4th at 7.30p.m in the Station House Hotel in Clifden.
