GALWAY PUBLIC HOSPITALS POOR FOR WEBSITE INFORMATION

A recent survey of public hospitals and their websites reveals that the website for Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe ranks on the low end of the scale, while Galway's University Hospital does not have a website at all.The research undertaken by the Irish Patients Association assessed the level of consumer information provided to patients and visitors via various hospital websites.Hospitals were assessed based on information they provided on car parking, internet facilties, TV or radio, canteen, public phones and banking facilities.Portiuncula hospital in Ballinasloe only achieved a score of 40.University Hospital Galway was deemed as having little or no online information.
