Cameras will be installed at dumping spots around the county in a bid to curb illegal dumping.

At a meeting of the County Joint Policing Committee, Councillor Shaun Cunniffe said there is a "dreadful problem" in the Cloontue and Cloonascragh areas of Tuam.

A report given out at the meeting showed that there is also concern about illegal dumping in Portumna.

New CCTV will be put in place in Portumna, Cloontooa Road and Cloonkeen Tuam and Carnakelly Athenry.
