Questions have been raised about the high cost of security at ongoing blasting works at Kilronan Harbour in Inismór.Speaking at this weeks county council meeting Connemara councillor Seosamh O Cuaig queried why security was costing over 800,000 euro.A constant Garda presence is needed as there are strict security regulations surrounding explosives needed for blasting that's being carried out to deepen the harbour. The work is part of the 40 million euro re-development of Kilronan Harbour. The council passed a motion to write to the Garda commissioner seeking an explanation about the figure.
