CONCERNS RAISED OVER LOCAL HOUSING SCHEME

County Councillors are worried about a scheme aimed at relieving developers of vacant houses and reducing social housing lists.
Under the scheme, the Council would lease a number of houses from various developers for ten years.
At the end of the term, the houses would be handed back to the developer.
At a recent County Council meeting, Councillor Michael Mullins raised concerns over future costs of these houses to local authorities.
