City Hall approves extension for community submissions on management of Knocknacarra centre

Galway Bay fm newsroom – City councillors have passed a motion to extend the period for submissions from community groups on the management of Knocknacarra community centre. The proposal from Independent Cllr Catherine Connolly received unanimous support at this week's meeting in City Hall. Last month, it was agreed that community groups would be given an opportunity to tender with an initial deadline of August 1st. This has now been extended. Cllr Connolly says the extension will enable local interest groups to compile their bid after many concerns were raised regarding the possible privitisation of the centre.
