CHANGES TO GALWAY WIND STRATEGY TO GO ON PUBLIC DISPLAY

The public will have an opportunity to comment on changes to the Wind Energy Strategy for County Galway.

At this week's meeting of the County Council 27 submissions to the wind strategy were discussed, following a previous public consultation process.

The Wind Strategy for County Galway outlines about 2 percent of the County that would be good areas to build wind turbines and will be incorporated into the County Development Plan.

Councillor Joe O' Laoi left the meeting before the discussion began stating that he may have a future interest in the wind industry.

The changes to the Wind Strategy for County Galway, agreed at yesterday's meeting, will now go on public display and people can make further submissions.
