CARNA QUARRY TO CLOSE FOLLOWING COURT CASE

A Carna quarry company has announced it's ceasing work at a quarry as a result of a court action taken against them yesterday.S & M Ó Cualáin Teo has decided to stop work at its quarry in Síodódh, a public commonage. A local resident, who had shares in the commonage, took a case against the company at Clifden Circuit Civil court yesterday. In a statement issued within the past hour, S & M Ó Cualáin Teo expressed disappointment at the court action. The company, which opened for business in 1901, must cease work at the quarry within 12 months
