€21m of sales across Galway in one month
A total of more than €21 million worth of residential properties were sold across Galway in September, according to official figures.
While the Property Price Register shows the volume of property sales concluded during September was down by around one-fifth, the total value of sales remained much the same.
The register shows that a total of 114 property sales were formally closed during the month – that’s down around 17% on the 138 in September 2013.
Last month’s sales were valued at just under €21.1 million, which is on a par with corresponding month last year.
In this regular feature, Tribune Property publishes property sales figures for the city and county using data scraped from the Property Price Register, and modified to include (where available) a brief description of the property and the initial asking price.
In a small number of transactions included in the Register, the price shown does not represent the full market price of the property concerned for a variety of reasons. All such properties are marked with asterisks.
For example, the price declared may reflect the retention of an interest in the property by the previous owner, or the fact that a part or fraction only of the property is being purchased; alternatively, the property may have been purchased at a reduced price under the Affordable Homes Scheme.
In addition, in a very small number of cases, properties may be declared as purchased in exchange for other property, stocks and shares, etc.
If the property is a new property, the price shown is exclusive of VAT at 13.5%
