Employers and employees still seeking clarity on post-Covid workplace
One-third of employees are still awaiting clarity over post-Covid practices – as to how they balance remote and office working.
And the main reason for that is the reality that around the same percentage of employers are still awaiting guidance from Public Health Authorities before communicating long-term plans to staff.
The upshot of all that – according to a survey carried out by IrishJobs.ie – is that close to half of all workers said this lack of clarity was impacting on their ability to plan in their personal lives, such as where to rent or buy, or where to enrol children in school.
But a second survey on the same theme found that four in five Irish organisations predicted a widespread reluctance to return to the office – meaning remote working is here to stay.
That’s according to the latest nationwide survey from the Association of Compliance Officers in Ireland.
And despite the ongoing easing of restrictions, it reveals that organisations believe that a mix of wariness over public health (37%) and an overall sense of contentment with working from home (43%) are behind worker’s disinclination to pick up where they left off in terms of office life.
The survey of over 300 organisations, answered by ACOI members with responsibility for compliance in financial organisations throughout the country, sought to gain insight into public sentiment towards a return to work, as restrictions around the country ease.
